facWEEKLY May 22

We hope you've had a good week, FAC Family! Here are just some of the great things happening in the coming weeks.

Check out "What's Happening" for a full list of events taking place this quarter.

Worship This Sunday

In Power | Week 7: How Can Suffering Be A Part of God's Plan? | Acts 14:19–22

Everyone looks for comfort and pleasure. Only a fool would actually want to suffer and live a hard life. But as Christ-followers we must expect suffering in our life (even those who do not follow Christ know this is true). No life will be lived entirely on the mountain top, completely devoid of hardship.

Great Commission Day Offering

Date: Sunday, May 31

The Great Commission Day Offering is The Alliance’s annual spring campaign that serves to raise money for the Great Commission Fund (GCF). It’s about all of us joining together to complete the Great Commission—by giving, praying, and participating in what God has commanded us to do.

FAC will be celebrating Great Commission Day on Sunday, May 31.

You can make your check out to First Alliance Church, designate your gift “Great Commission Day Offering 2026” in the memo line, and put it in the church’s offering box. You may also give online by clicking the button below.

For questions or additional information, please contact Pastor Scott (sshuffield@facerie.org) or Mike Lawson (michael.lawson@facerie.org).

Women 2 Women Bible Study

Place: Room B106

Join us for our women’s Bible study: Miracles of Jesus.

This is a standalone study; you can jump into it at any time. No book to buy and no homework to do. Through engaging video teaching from respected scholars and professionals, we’ll explore six well-known miracles of Jesus and discover how each one reveals God’s character, the Kingdom of God, and His deep love for you.

We would love to have you join us!

Women’s Thursday Afternoon Bible Study

Date: Thursdays (will continue throughout the summer)
Time: 1–3pm
Place: Room F201

Join us for a weekly Bible study for women of all ages.

This is a discussion-based study for women who are eager to grow deeper in their understanding of Scripture and engage thoughtfully with God’s Word alongside others. Together, we’ll explore the Bible through meaningful conversation, study, and encouragement.

Whether you’ve been studying the Bible for years or are simply ready to go deeper, we would love for you to join us.

Pizza with the Staff

Date: Sunday, May 31
Time: 12:45pm
Place: FAC Youth Center

If you’ve started attending FAC within the past year, this event is just for you!

Join us for Pizza with the Staff—a relaxed, welcoming lunch where you’ll spend time with Pastor Ben and members of the leadership team. It’s a great opportunity for us to get to know you better as well. The gathering will include a brief Q&A session, and you’re invited to submit your questions in advance.

Seating is limited, so registration is required. The deadline to sign up is May 24.

We hope to see you there!

Prayer for International Workers Rob & Barb Quiring.

Rob and Barbara Quiring are international workers supported by FAC. They served for many years in Ecuador and are now located in Nebraska. On May 11th, Barbara had laminectomy with fusion to stabilize her spine in the L3, L4, and L5 area. We appreciate your prayers for the journey towards healing.

You can learn more about the Quirings by picking up a copy of our “Prayer Guide for World Missions” at the Missions Table near the entrance of the Worship Center. You can partner with Rob & Barb in ministry by giving to the FAC Missions Fund.

Do You Have a Prayer Request or Praise?

“Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere” (Ephesians 6:18, NLT).

The staff and elders at FAC would love to pray for you. Send your request or praise to Pastor Scott through the form below.
