WHAT WE BELIEVE
First and foremost, we believe that worship team members are not just musicians or tech operators. We are ALL worship leaders.
EVERYONE on the team has the responsibility of leading worship!
If you are a bass player, your role is not just to pluck a few strings and fill in the low end. You are a worship leader! If you are a percussionist, your role is not simply to hit a few drums and cymbals. You are a worship leader! If you are a vocalist, you don’t just sing harmony. You are a worship leader! If you are a tech operator, your role is not just to cover your designated station in the tech booth. You are a worship leader!
...because we are ALL worship leaders.
At FAC, we believe that the role of a worship leader is this:
An effective corporate worship leader, aided and led by the Holy Spirit, skillfully combines biblical truth with music to magnify the worth of God and to bless His name.
So, no matter the physical role in the worship ministry, we all share the same spiritual role.
5 CORE BELIEFS
-
The title “worship leader” reveals not only our mission but our position. We are not just musicians in the church. We are LEADERS. And that leadership extends to outside of Sunday mornings. Should you join the worship ministry, people will recognize you as a leader in the church—not just on Sunday mornings—but at your workplace, when you’re shopping at the grocery store, and when you’re at your son or daughter’s school sports game.
That’s why it is so important that we represent the church well and seek to glorify God—not just on Sunday mornings—but in all areas of our lives.
As leaders, we must be committed to standing behind our church leadership as well. Agreeing to participate on the worship team is also agreeing to support our other church leaders and volunteers. We must be unified as not only the worship team but also the church as a whole.
That is not to say that there isn’t room for mistakes—thank God for the grace He provides on a daily basis! But, as leaders in the church, we are held to a higher standard.
-
Joining the worship ministry is not just a Sunday morning commitment. As a team, it’s important that we put in the work ahead of time to make sure things flow as smoothly as possible on Sunday mornings. When we prepare well, we are able to lead worship well.
-
God deserves our best. Therefore, we have a culture of constant improvement, understanding that we’ve never “arrived.” Members of the worship ministry are expected to have a teachable attitude, understanding that there is always room for improvement.
We have a culture of constant evaluation—not for the sake of saying “look what you did wrong”—but for the sake of learning how we can improve as a team.
-
A key leadership principle that Jesus sets forth in the Bible is servant leadership. As leaders in the church, we are called to SERVE others in the church. That means that we make decisions with them in mind FIRST.
When we have a servant leadership focus, we fix problems we see without being asked. That could be as simple as picking up a piece of trash in the parking lot on the way into worship rehearsal OR even helping a church member move into a new house. Leaders SERVE others.
-
As team members in the worship ministry, we are not simply a band of musicians and a tech team. We are a FAMILY.
Yes, families have differing opinions from time to time. Conflict arises. But, at the end of the day, we make a commitment to work with each other and love each other through any struggles for the benefit of the church.
Our goal is not just to be a group of musicians or a band that leads the church in worship, but our goal is to love one another in a way that is translated to the congregation when we lead them.

ISAIAH REAM
Director of Worship & Production
iream@facerie.org
Hey everyone! I’m Isaiah Ream, but most of the time I go by “Zay.” I serve as FAC’s Director of Worship & Production.
I’m from Somerset, PA—a town in the “middle of nowhere” Pennsylvania. Since I was a teenager, I’ve led worship at my home church, Somerset Alliance Church, which is similar to FAC in many ways. During a season when we didn’t have a full-time worship leader, I had the opportunity to lead the worship team, which gave me experience in leading and discipling a wide age range of volunteers.
After completing some college courses in high school, I attended Liberty University for 2 years and graduated in 2024 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and Worship. During my time at LU, I was an intern and vocalist at Thomas Road Baptist Church, where I was able to lead worship for a large congregation, work with world-class musicians & worship leaders, and witness first-hand how a high-production worship service is run.
Through my involvement in leading worship at church, I realized the intimacy of the relationship we have with Christ. Through serving on the worship team, I felt the power of the Holy Spirit moving for the first time. This kindled an unwavering passion within me to lead others in authentic and profound worship. I want to be able to provide an environment where the Holy Spirit can operate freely among the faithful, enabling them to encounter the profound fulfillment and power that He brings.
MICHAEL SIMONS
Assistant to Director of Worship & Production
msimons@facerie.org
Hello there, I’m Michael (not Mike … there are too many of those around the church!). I serve as an assistant in the worship ministry.
I’ve attended FAC since I was born, and have done everything here from facPRESCHOOL and AWANA to youth group and young adults. I’m currently a senior at Penn State Behrend studying Digital Media, Arts, and Technology. So between all of that and my love of music, it’s safe to say I enjoy working with the worship ministry at FAC.
I led the facYOUTH music team while I was in high school (which I did partially by borrowing songs, equipment, and people from the Sunday morning music team, lol). I have also played with Brandon Fox Worship and The Band 814, two amazing local Christian bands.
I don’t go a day without listening to music. My hope is that I can share the joy of good music with others, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to do so at FAC.
