facWEEKLY February 27

We hope you've had a good week, FAC Family! Here are just some of the great things happening in the coming weeks.

Check out "What's Happening" for a full list of events taking place this quarter.

Worship This Sunday

Join us this Sunday as David, our international worker in Japan, will be sharing about the work he and his wife, Evangeline, are involved in and how we can partner with them.

Prayer & Worship Night

Date: Wednesday, March 4
Time: 7pm
Place: in the Worship Center

Wednesday at 7pm—we’re gathering for prayer and worship.

A focused night to slow down, seek God, and lift Him up together.

Join us and invite someone to come with you. See you then!

Pure Desire: Seven Pillars of Freedom

Date: Wednesdays, March 4–December 16
Time: 7–9pm
Place: in Room A403
Cost: $80 (includes Seven Pillars Workbook, Journal, and the Pure Desire book)

Pure Desire Ministries is starting another group! If you missed joining the Seven Pillars of Freedom group in August, don't worry—a new group will begin meeting in March and will run through December. Don't miss this opportunity to join a trusted community.

Many men who struggle with sexual brokenness try to do it alone. They believe the lie that sexual brokenness is about sex; when really, it’s about medicating the pain in their lives. Despite their losses—marriage, ministry, relationships, and more—they continue to return to unwanted sexual behaviors. But the truth is, we cannot fix a problem if we don’t know what’s causing it.

Through the Seven Pillars of Freedom, you’ll start to understand your whole story and identify what contributes to your sexual brokenness. You will begin your recovery from unwanted sexual behavior with a trusted group of men on the same journey. Working with guided lessons and a trusted community, you will develop the tools necessary to break free, heal your relationship, and take back your life.

Registration is $80 and includes the Seven Pillars Workbook, Journal, and the Pure Desire book. If you have any questions or want to learn more, reach out to Chenny Langness at cnlangness@gmail.com. Registration closes March 1st.

Helping our Community

HOPE Ministry has helped open the door to the nations in our city. Some of the families we serve through HOPE/ESL have recently lost their food benefits. We have the honor of helping those in need, as Jesus called his followers in Matthew 25, that when we help those in need it is as if we are doing it for Him.

If you would like to help, you can pick up a shopping list (it will cost approximately $25–$30) and a shopping bag to put the items in at the table next to The Hub. Return the filled shopping bag the next time you come to FAC and our HOPE team will distribute the food bags to those they have identified as having a need.

This food collection will take place between March 1st and March 15th.

facWOMEN’s Thursday Evening Bible Study

Date: Thursdays, March 5–April 2
Time: 6–8pm
Place: in Room B106
Cost: $15 for book

You’re invited! Beginning Thursday, March 5th, join us for a women’s Bible study from 6–8pm in Room B106 (the Music Room).

We’ll be walking through Help Is Here by Max Lucado, a study that reminds us we don’t have to navigate life alone. Whether you’re feeling strong, tired, hopeful, or unsure, this is a space to grow, connect, and support one another as we walk through life together.

The cost is $15 for the book.

Sign up in the lobby or by clicking the button below.

All women are welcome—come as you are and consider inviting a friend!

Women 2 Women Special Event

Date: Tuesday, March 3
Time: 9:30–11:30am
Place: in Room B106

On March 3, we will have a special opportunity to hear from Evangeline, a missionary serving in Northern Japan amongst the loneliest people in the world.

All women are welcome to attend this day to hear from and pray for Evangeline.

Women 2 Women Bible Study

Date: Tuesdays, beginning March 10
Time: 9:30–11:30am
Place: in room B106
Cost: $20 for book

On Tuesday, March 10, we will begin our new Women 2 Women study. Imagine walking the dusty roads of Galilee with Jesus of Nazareth—braving jostling crowds just to touch the edge of His cloak and hear Him say, "Take heart, daughter, your faith has healed you." Those words, once meant to comfort a hurting woman's soul thousands of years ago, were also meant for you.

Join biblical culturalist, Kristi McLelland, on this 7-session study. 'Feast' on the Word of God in a fresh way and gain a deeper understanding of the Bible through a Middle Eastern lens of reading Scripture. Discover how Jesus graciously brought justice and righteousness to women in the first-century world and how He generously lifted them out of their shame and restored their honor.

Sign up by clicking the button below or at the table in the lobby. The cost is $20 for the book.

Intro to FAC and Membership Classes

Date: Sundays, March 15–April 19 (excluding Easter Sunday, April 5)
Time: 11am–12pm
Place: in Room B106

Are you new or newer to First Alliance Church and want to learn more about us? Or maybe you've been attending for months or even years and have decided you'd like to become a member? Perhaps you're somewhere in between? It doesn't matter which category you fall under–this class is for you!

Intro to FAC is a five-week course on all things FAC. Learn about who we are, what we believe, how to get involved, and the importance of becoming a member of the local church. This is also a great opportunity to meet others and build relationships! (Completing the Intro to FAC course is a prerequisite to membership, but pursuing membership upon completion of the course is not mandatory.) There is no cost to attend.

The Spring 2026 session of Intro to FAC will be offered on Sundays, March 15–April 19 (excluding Easter Sunday, April 5) from 11am–12pm in B106. To register, sign up at the table in the lobby or by using the link below. Contact Kim Palmer in the church office at kpalmer@facerie.org or 814-833-9862 with any questions.
