We hope you've had a good week, FAC Family! Here are just some of the great things happening in the coming weeks.
Check out "What's Happening" for a full list of events taking place this quarter.
Worship This Sunday
GRACE UPON GRACE | Ephesians 1:15-23
Join us this Sunday as we continue our series in Ephesians, looking at the importance that heavenly wisdom, insight, and hope play in our faith and love in the church.
Singspiration! Greatest Hits! (finale)
Date: Sunday, May 18
Time: 6:30–8pm
Place: in the Youth Center
A celebratory song service for senior adults featuring the singing of hymns and gospel songs. Come and invite a friend to join you. We will finish singing our way through the list of your all time favorites. We will have several guest musicians. Consider bringing a plate of cookies to share and/or a non-perishable food donation for our Food Pantry. (Please check expiration dates before donating).
Group Life Leaders
We are looking for leaders in the overall Group Life at FAC. Are you interested in leading a home group, a class that meets in the church building, or maybe an affinity group (common interests)? Do you want to lead a group that has a definite end date, or one that will continue indefinitely? If you're interested in this possibility, email Steve Volstad at svolstad@facerie.org for more information.
Missions Trip to Mexico
Date: July 18–25
Place: Mexico
Cost: $2,000
We're sending a team to Mexico to work with our International Workers with the Christian & Missionary Alliance! This trip will be to help them develop their English ministry, as they hope to have an accredited English center one day. This won't be an English camp but an opportunity to step into their existing program and also help train new local teachers. We're looking for a mix of those with experience teaching English but also encouragers to support the new teachers.
A passport that does not expire before February 2026 is needed for travel, and we estimate the cost at $2000. Scholarships are available for those who attend FAC on a regular basis.
If interested, register online by Sunday, May 25. This doesn't obligate you, but it lets us know you're interested. More information is available in the lobby.
Women's Care Center 5K Run + Walk For Life
Date: Saturday, May 31
Time: 9am
Place: at Pleasant Ridge Park, Girard
The Women's Care Center is throwing a Carnival Extravaganza! for their annual fundraising 5K Run + Walk For Life event. To learn more or to register, visit www.wccerie.org or call 814-836-7505. There are also a handful of registration forms available in the church office or at The Hub.
facMEN's Softball
The facMEN's softball team will be in action once again this summer! If you're looking for something to do on a beautiful summer evening, come on out and support the team. The team plays in a Christian league with other area churches. Schedules are available at the Adult Ministries table in the lobby.
facYOUTH - LIFE 2025 Fundraiser
This summer, our facYOUTH students are heading to the Alliance Youth LIFE Conference 2025 in Indianapolis, IN—and we couldn’t be more excited! LIFE is an incredible experience filled with powerful worship, dynamic speakers, and life-changing moments. We truly believe this trip will be a crucial part of God’s work in shaping our students’ faith for years to come.
We want to invite you to be part of their journey! Through your prayers and generosity, you can help send our youth to LIFE 2025. There are two ways you can give:
1. Grab an envelope from the Youth display in the church lobby—simply pick an envelope with a number and give that amount.
2. Give online through PushPay by selecting "LIFE Youth Fundraiser" under the giving options or click the button below.
As our students prepare for this conference, we are also encouraging them to serve faithfully within the life of the church. It’s a beautiful picture of how the church invests in the next generation—and how the next generation steps up to serve the church!
Your support not only helps them attend this powerful event—it helps them grow as faithful, active members of our church community.
Thank you for being a church that believes in the next generation. Let’s send them with our prayers, encouragement, and support!
Communion Prep Volunteer Opportunity
Would you be willing to help on the communion prep team? The communion ministry is seeking dedicated volunteers to serve on their team, helping to prepare and take care of the communion elements. It's a meaningful and important way to reverently serve the church family behind the scenes. Teams operate on a rotation basis, with each team serving four times per year on the first Sunday of the month. We welcome older children who are able to serve with their adult.
Please contact Sandy Taylor at 814-449-0937 or sjjt@aol.com for more information.
Prayer for International Workers Steve & Christy Volstad
Steve and Christy Volstad are international workers supported by Inca Link, based in the US but serving missionaries in South America. Praise the Lord for the spiritual growth and maturity of two young women who have been a part of the Casa Onesiforo project since they were children. Pray for them as they help with Inca Link.
You can learn more about Steve and Christy by picking up a copy of our “Prayer Guide for World Missions” at the Missions Table, near the entrance of the Worship Center, and you can partner with Steve and Christy in ministry by giving to the FAC Missions.
Do You Have a Prayer Request or Praise?
"Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere" (Ephesians 6:18, NLT).
The staff and elders at FAC would love to pray for you. Send your request or praise to Pastor Scott through the form below.
