Check out "What's Happening" for a full list of events taking place this quarter.
Worship This Sunday
GRACE UPON GRACE | “Mission: Peace” or “Mission: Impossible?” | Ephesians 2:11–22
Good things don’t just happen, they come to fruition through the good work of people doing good in their community, homes, and their own lives. Join us this week as we continue our series in Ephesians, seeing how we play a role in God’s good work in this world.
Great Commission Day
Date: Sunday, June 15
The world is full of empty and unplowed fields—places where seeds of the gospel have yet to be sown or where people have turned their hearts from Jesus. Yet God’s heart of compassion is for these forgotten, neglected fields. We go and send because God calls, because the fields are ready, because hearts everywhere need to encounter His compassion and love. Together, let’s join with our Lord of the harvest and send forth laborers into His fields.
FAC will be celebrating Great Commission Day on Sunday, June 15th.
You can make your check out to First Alliance Church, designate your gift “Great Commission Day Offering 2025” in the memo line, and put it in the church’s offering box. You may also give online and choose the drop-down box for Great Commission Fund.

HOPE ESL Summer Info Meeting
Date: Monday, June 16
Time: 6:30pm
Place: in Room B106
Have you been curious about HOPE Ministry (Helping Others Practice English) and want to get involved but not sure if you can help? Well, if you love Jesus, love people and speak English, you can help! We need volunteers to help in our English classes one afternoon a week for 2 hours from July 1–mid August. You don't need to have teaching experience or speak another language to help. Outside of English, there's a need for childcare, transportation, sewing and more!
Come learn more at our information meeting. For more information contact Amy McCullough at amccullough@facerie.org
Group Life Leaders
We are looking for leaders in the overall Group Life at FAC. Are you interested in leading a home group, a class that meets in the church building, or maybe an affinity group (common interests)? Do you want to lead a group that has a definite end date, or one that will continue indefinitely? If you're interested in this possibility, email Steve Volstad at svolstad@facerie.org for more information.
Summer Coffee Break
We know how much you love your Sunday morning coffee and snacks - we do too! But we love our coffee and snack team volunteers even more! For that reason, we are taking a step in helping them find some rest and relief by giving them a well-deserved break this summer.
Beginning June 1 through Labor Day weekend, we will temporarily suspend serving coffee and snacks in the lobby on Sunday mornings.
If you're looking for a way to get involved by serving, the coffee and snack team will be recruiting some new volunteers later this summer when we gear up for the fall season. Be looking for that announcement right here in the facWEEKLY and during the Sunday morning announcements in the months to come.
Communion Prep Volunteer Opportunity
Would you be willing to help on the communion prep team? The communion ministry is seeking dedicated volunteers to serve on their team, helping to prepare and take care of the communion elements. It's a meaningful and important way to reverently serve the church family behind the scenes. Teams operate on a rotation basis, with each team serving four times per year on the first Sunday of the month. We welcome older children who are able to serve with their adult.
Please contact Sandy Taylor at 814-449-0937 or sjjt@aol.com for more information.
Prayer for International Workers David & Evangeline Kindervatter, Japan
David and Evangeline Kindervater are international workers supported by FAC, serving in Tokyo, Japan. The spiritual battle has been particularly intense in the last couple of weeks. Christ has already won the victory, but please pray for protection, wisdom and His clear leading as we stand firm in the faith and fight against the deceiver. Pray especially for the young believers in our church, as their world seems to be shaking, that they would stand firmly on the ROCK of their salvation and on the Word of God.
You can learn more about David and Evangeline by picking up a copy of our “Prayer Guide for World Missions” at the Missions Table, near the entrance of the Worship Center. You can partner with David and Evangeline in ministry by giving to the Great Commission Fund.
Do You Have a Prayer Request or Praise?
"Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere" (Ephesians 6:18, NLT).
The staff and elders at FAC would love to pray for you. Send your request or praise to Pastor Scott through the form below.
