Worship This Sunday
DANIEL: Stand Firm | Week 2: Soft Hearts, Steel Spines | Daniel 1:8–21
What does it take to live in a world that feels like it’s moving against the church, people of faith, and the person of Jesus? How do we navigate our faith and our culture and remain faithful to the LORD? Soft hearts and steel spines.
Join us this week as we take a look at how Daniel and his friends help us navigate the world around us.
Intro to FAC & Membership Classes
NEW START DATE: SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4
Date: Sundays, October 4–November 1
Time: 11:00am–12:00pm
Place: in room B106
Are you new or newer to First Alliance Church and want to learn more about us? Or maybe you’ve been attending for a long time and have decided you’d like to become a member? It doesn’t matter which category you fall into—this class is for you!
Intro to FAC is a five-week course on all things FAC. Learn about who we are, what we believe, how to get involved, and the importance of becoming a member of the local church. This is a great opportunity to meet others in the church and build meaningful relationships!
The Intro to FAC course is the first step toward pursuing membership, but it does not obligate you to continue the process.
Intro to FAC now begins Sunday, October 4. Sign up using the link below or contact Kim Palmer in the church office at kpalmer@facerie.org or 814-833-9862.

Journey with God: Slaying the Giants in Your Life
Date: Sundays, beginning September 20
Time: 9:30–10:30am
Place: in Room B106 (Music Room)
The Journey with God class is beginning a new series, “Slaying the Giants in Your Life.” The Bible warns us of “giants in the land,” and whether they’re literal, like Goliath, or figurative, like fear, loneliness, and temptation, their goal is the same: to crush God’s people. Bible teacher and pastor, Dr. David Jeremiah, shows us how to stand up to these bullies and win—with God’s help!
All ages are welcome!
Men’s Breakfast
Date: Saturday, October 3
Time: 9–10:30am

Men and boys of all ages are invited to join us for a delicious breakfast and meaningful fellowship with others from FAC and the community. It’s a great opportunity to connect, build friendships, and enjoy some time together. Invite a friend to join you!
There is no cost to attend, but donations will be accepted. Register online using the link below.

FAC Youth Fall Getaway
Dates and Times: October 9–11
Place: Laurelville Retreat Center (transportation provided by FAC Youth)
Cost: $99
Fall Getaway will be here before you know it … so don’t miss out! This weekend is centered on our BELONG core value because FAC Youth believes every student needs a place where they are known, welcomed, and encouraged to grow in their relationship with Jesus. We will have all kinds of games, team challenges, worship, engaging sessions, and plenty of time to build lasting friendships.
We’re also making some exciting changes for 2026! This year, we’re heading to Laurelville Retreat Center, just outside of Pittsburgh, PA. Even better––we’re extending the retreat to last two nights, giving students even more time to connect, have fun, and experience all that God has in store. Including the extra night, the cost is just $99. Payment options will be made available as needed (the cost includes lodging, meals, transportation, activities, and a t-shirt!). We’re also thrilled to welcome a very special guest speaker … so stay tuned for that announcement!
Whether you’re a returning student or thinking about coming for the first time, Fall Getaway is the perfect opportunity to step away from the busyness of life, deepen your faith, and discover what it truly means to BELONG.
Registration closes September 30, so sign up today!
Prayer for International Workers, Chris & Liz (N. Africa)
Chris and Liz are international workers supported by FAC. They serve in N. Africa. Thanks for praying for the developing residency/visa situation. We met together with our teammates to talk through our options. Pray for wisdom as we continue to consider what the best path forward is. Pray, too, for favor for us and for our residency to be miraculously restored.
You can learn more about Chris and Liz by picking up a copy of our “Prayer Guide for World Missions” at the Missions Table near the entrance of the Worship Center. You can partner with Chris and Liz in ministry by giving to the FAC Missions Fund.
Edinboro Camp updates
Catch up on all the latest news with our partner ministry, Edinboro Camp, by going to FAC's website and clicking on the Resource tab. Check back each month for the latest news as well as prayer and praise items.
Do You Have a Prayer Request or Praise?
“Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere” (Ephesians 6:18, NLT).
The staff and elders at FAC would love to pray for you. Send your request or praise to Pastor Scott through the form below.
