FAC Weekly | October 9
We hope you've had a good week, FAC Family!
Watch the video below for a quick look at some of the great things coming up at FAC!
What’s Happening
For a full list of events taking place this month, check out our “What's Happening” info sheet, which you can also find posted throughout our building.
Worship This Sunday
DANIEL: Stand Firm | Week 4: A Surrendered Heart | Daniel 3
This Sunday, we continue our Stand Firm series, asking how we can live faithfully in a world that is ever-changing. In Daniel 3, we’ll learn from Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego about the courage to obey God and the trust to surrender what we can’t control.
Join us as we consider God’s provision, power, and presence—and how we can stand firm with hearts surrendered to him.
FAC Kids Playdate
Date: 3rd Thursday of each month, September–May
Time: 10am–12pm
Place: in the Nursery
Parents and caregivers of kids ages five and under—let’s have some FUN together! Join us each 3rd Thursday of the month as we gather in the nursery for a time to play, connect with friends, and learn more about Jesus alongside your kids.
We’ll have time to play, do different activities, and enjoy time together as a family. It’s also a great place to invite a friend and meet other families in the FAC Kids community!
Hope to see you there!
Benevolence Fund
FAC's Benevolence Ministry is designed to help the FAC family, primarily widows, single-parent families, the unemployed, and those with financial emergencies and unexpected expenses. This ministry is entirely funded through the generous giving of our church family.
If you would like to give, whether regularly or when the Lord leads, you can mark your giving envelopes or click on “Benevolence Fund” on the drop-down box through FAC's online giving.
If you are experiencing a need, you may contact Jim Kubaney (814-323-6825) or Pastor Scott Shuffield (sshuffield@facerie.org).
Report of the 2026 Nominating Committee
In anticipation of our upcoming Annual Meeting on Sunday, October 25, 2026, during both worship services at 9:30am and 11:00am, the Report of the 2026 Nominating Committee has been posted for official members to review.
This report contains the proposed ballot of nominees for the positions of church elders, church officers, and next year’s Nominating Committee. The report can be found on the bulletin board in the church lobby.
Ballots will be available for official members to pick up beginning this Sunday, October 11.
Prayer for International Worker Holly Woodworth
Holly Woodworth is working in Miami with the Christian & Missionary Alliance. Pray for Holly to have opportunities for relationship–building and gospel-sharing and pray for her encouragement.
You can learn more about Holly by picking up a copy of our “Prayer Guide for World Missions” at the Missions Table near the entrance of the Worship Center. You can partner with Holly in ministry by giving to the Great Commission Fund.
Do You Have a Prayer Request or Praise?
“Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere” (Ephesians 6:18, NLT).
The staff and elders at FAC would love to pray for you. Send your request or praise to Pastor Scott through the form below.
